Dr. Stone, Dr. Ward, and Dr. Rusinek are comprehensive ophthalmologists offering surgical treatment of eye diseases as well as routine eye care.
We perform cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, eye muscle surgery, and tear duct surgery as well as laser treatment of diabetes, after cataract, retinal tears, glaucoma, and LASIK surgery. We perform some surgeries in our office such as eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty, and other surgeries such as cataract surgery are performed at Western Wake or Rex hospitals. We perform our cataract surgery using the most modern techniques - no stitch surgery using phacoemulsification or ultrasound to break up the cloudy lens in the eye. Patients will also have the option to choose multifocal and astigmatism correcting intraocular lenses for their cataract surgery. We can use ReSTOR, Crystalens, and Acrysof intraocular lenses depending on your visual needs. For his LASIK surgery, Dr. Ward uses the VISX laser which tracks or follows your eye during the procedure. Dr. Ward is also using the new Wave-Scan Technology.
We fit all types of contact lenses including soft lenses, toric lenses, and gas permeable lenses. We have a full service optical shop which can complete a pair of glasses for you in one week in most cases.
We provide on call emergency care for our patients 24 hours a day. We can be reached by calling our office phone number. Our answering service will then page the doctor on call. We also will always fit patients with acute problems into our clinic schedules.
